A Very Snow Winter!
There’s no better time to ski or snowboard Keystone Resort than right now! We’ve received well over 4 feet of snow in just the past week! In fact it has been snowing so much in Colorado that much of the state, including here in Summit county is nearing 150% of the average snow-pack for this time of the year. Talk about a full 360; less than two months ago we were having a record breaking warm and dry fall. That warm, dry fall weather was great for hitting the bike trails one last time, but it delayed many opening days here in Summit County including here at Keystone. Keystone’s amazing snow-making team took care of any early season jitters about it being a warm, dry winter and got things open on November 18th. Shortly after opening day Mother Nature picked up the slack with snowfall after snowfall most of December with the only true break in storms coming during Christmas week. By New Years Eve snow clouds were back over Keystone and now that we think about it, we’re not sure if we’ve even seen the sun in 2017 as its been snowing everyday! Whether you’re a seasoned vet or a first timer, January and February is a great time to hit the slopes, with less crowds than Christmas and Spring Break and soft fresh snow falling regularly it’s no wonder why this is one of our favorite times of the year to hit the slopes!
